Just Add Feet!
Just Add Feet! at First United Methodist Church, Palo Alto, was a great success. The participants all had a good time and couldn't wait to get their fingers on the organ keyboard. We had 17 attendees, even though 29 signed up. That actually worked fine so that each person got enough attention and time on the console. All the evaluations were very positive at the end.
Thank you to all of you, especially Diane Keller, who was a superstar presenter of the church’s organ! Rachel got people registered. Jean opened up the door early in the morning. Colin wrote checks and got them to me on time. Lauren allowed me use of her church's copier (huge savings there). Margaret printed out the teachers list and did a lot of organizing with her son to get me special cookies, books to share, and PPP posters for SJ. Her brain was on top of things when I couldn't think straight. Same goes for Ruth during the event, who acted as both photographer and my brain especially with the computer connections for the presentation, indispensable. Tim was a consummate teacher, and Matthew helped me with the carpool and opened his chapel to us for the mini-masterclass. Catha's donation made me feel better about buying $500 worth of sandwiches, and she and Linda have been cheerleaders the whole way.
Overall, I hope we get some students and new members out of this. Also, I have had one request for shadowing. Catha is going to help me follow up with these individuals.
We can feel good about spreading the joy of organs and educating our community. A lot of happy people afterwards. This will pay off.
