The Palo Alto/Peninsula Chapter of the American Guild of Organists, the El Palo Alto Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, the San Francisco Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution and Christ Church Portola Valley and Woodside present a concert of American music featuring organist Barbara Baird from Eugene, Oregon.  Dr. Baird recently retired as a professor at the University of Oregon, where she taught for nearly 40 years.

The program will include “Concert Variations on the Star-Spangled Banner,"  “Partita on ‘Simple Gifts" by Noel Goemanne and Joe Utterback‘s jazz-tinged  “Shall We Gather at the River.” “We Shall Overcome: A Suite for Solo Organ” by Sharon J. Willis pays tribute to the civil rights movement.
