3:15pm Concert by the Cygnus Argenteus Consort
This concert is performed by an ensemble of fretted, bowed string instruments popular during the Renaissance and Baroque periods. Consort members are Marie Szuts, Tobi Szuts, David Miller, Erik Andersen, and Elisabeth Reed.
4:00pm Choral Evensong with the St. Luke’s Choir
Dr. Joy-Leilani Garbutt, Director
Music by William Byrd and Orlando Gibbons, two of the most celebrated English composers during the late Renaissance and early Baroque eras. Gibbons, a brilliant younger contemporary of the influential Byrd, learned from his example and together they represent the pinnacle of English Renaissance music and the transition to the Baroque era.
This event will take place in the intimate setting of Dade Hall.
