Sook Hyun Kim is currently serving as the Cathedral Organist at the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels in Los Angeles, California.
As a concert organist, Ms. Kim has toured widely and performed in masterclasses in many of the major, notable venues in the United States, Canada, Europe, and Asia, such as the Alice Tully Hall at Lincoln Center in New York City, Jack Singer Concert Hall in Calgary, Canada, and Emmanuel College in Cambridge, England. Additionally, while on tour in England in 2019, she performed at St. Paul’s Cathedral and Westminster Cathedral in London. Ms. Kim has also played throughout Paris as a participant in the International French Organ Music Seminar, and most recently has devoted her study to César Franck's major organ works and numerous French organ repertoires at the Princeton University Chapel.
Ms. Kim was appointed the organist for the EWTN televised Annual Christmas Concert at the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in Washington, D.C. in 2013 and 2014. She has participated in the International Keyboard Institute and Festival at the Mannes College of Music in New York City. She has also extensively collaborated with many chamber groups, brass ensembles, and soloists as a pianist and accompanist. Ms. Kim's previous organ positions include Saint John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church in Lambertville, New Jersey, Redeemer Presbyterian Church in New York City, Nassau Presbyterian Church in Princeton, New Jersey, and Liberty Corner Presbyterian Church in Basking Ridge, New Jersey.
She holds Bachelor of Music and Master of Music degrees from the University of Colorado in Boulder, a Master of Sacred Music degree from the Catholic University of America, and completed the two-year Professional Studies Program at the Juilliard School in New York City.
